Steve Schwartz has built Art of Tea into one of the leading companies in the specialty tea market. Much of the exceptional growth in the company is due to Steve’s impressive attention to detail, as he spends an extraordinary amount of time thinking of ways to passionately grow his team. Since 1996, Steve has turned Art of Tea into a leading distributor of organic and specialty teas, traveling extensively each year and returning with rare and unique teas from around the world. Inclusive Leadership and Boutique Progression
with Jagruti Panwala, Vice Chairwoman, AAHOA
Interviewed by Frances Kiradjian, CEO & Founder, BLLA
Jagruti Panwala is the first female Vice Chairwoman of AAHOA, a renowned position and monumental accomplishment. The fact that she reached this position in 2018, however, serves as testament to the sexism still abundant in hospitality - wage gap is no myth, and prevalent in just about every industry. We speak to Jagruti about the importance and impact of inclusivity, and why female empowerment and racial equality are a foundation of the boutique industry’s approach to leadership roles and detrimental to its success.

2:30 - 2:50 pm Workshop
It’s Not Just for Revenue Managers Anymore
with Kevin Duncan, Senior Director, Strategic Commercial Initiatives, The Rainmaker Group
Revenue managers hoard knowledge until someone is wise, dependent on, brave enough to ask about. Kevin Duncan speaks to Stay Boutique about allowing this access to everyone. In this Bootcamp session, you will get a look at some of the reports revenue managers are looking at daily that could alleviate pain points throughout other areas of the boutique concept.

2:50 - 3:10 pm Workshop
Boutique Technological Innovation
with Vanessa Ogle, CEO, Enseo
Guests now expect a better than home experience when they travel. Of course, reliable, fast Wi-Fi is at the top of their list, but there are many other technologies that are guests not only expecting but demanding as they enter hotels.  Vanessa Ogle speaks to Stay Boutique about forward movement in relation to technology, and ways in which products can be designed to not only satisfy consumers, but protect employees, creating a satisfying guest experience and safer workspace for employees.

3:10 - 3:30 pm Workshop
Giving Time: Hospitality’s Time to Do Good
with Kerry Rodgers, Executive Director, Give a Day Global & Jacqueline Villamil, Partner & COO, Strategic Solution Partners
The boutique industry finds its foundation in the impactful natures of passion and and progression - concepts embodied by Jacqueline Villamil and Kerry Rodgers. Digging deeper into the reality of hospitality values, it was discovered that 33% of contractors value their free time as the leading benefit to their work above compensation; and 31% valued the opportunity to travel. In response, SSP partnered with Give A Day Global, a San Francisco-based non-profit that connects travelers with single-day volunteer missions to create the industry-first "Giving Time" initiative. Jacqueline Villamil, COO of SSP, and Kerry Rodgers, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Give a Day Global and former Social Impact consultant at Airbnb, will share their perspective on how volunteering even just one day can impact positively the community, and support the work-life balance workers desire.

3:30 - 4:00 pm Workshop
Boutique, Tradition, and Collaboration
with Chelsea Nightengale, General Manager, The Restoration Hotel
The Restoration Hotel is known for its take on Southern tradition, and combination of hotel rooms and residences. It also boasts an array of amenities unmatched in their luxury and price point. Chelsea Nightengale joins Stay Boutique to speak about the importance of collaboration and progression of boutique; the ways in which relationships between boutique concepts are detrimental to the success of both, and progression of society.
